Picture frame stack offset clip (1/2) inch is sold in packages of 4 with screws. Used when the picture stack (glass, picture and backer) exceed the depth of the rabbet.The quick and simple answer when contents of the frame are thicker than the depth of the frame, as is often the case with canvas.  Use 1/2″ offset clips for canvas.
